The hotel restaurant, on a handheld
We are building the app for the waiters: the order is taken at the table and reaches the kitchen and the bar by itself, the bill is settled with the card held to the handheld or charged to the guest's room. Everything ends up in the folios of Galaxy Hotel Cloud, with nothing to type twice.
It is in development and has no date yet. The screens on this page are a drawn preview.

The floor
The tables of every room with their state: free, seated with the covers and the total, waiting for the bill. A tap opens the table; tables can be moved and joined.

The order
The menu is the items of Galaxy, with variants and notes. Dishes are grouped by course and each goes to the printer of its department: kitchen, pizzeria or bar.

The bill
Pre-bill, discount and split evenly or by item. Payment in cash, by card on the handheld, to the room, or part and part.
What it will do
Orders at the table
The waiter opens the table with its covers and writes the order on the handheld. If the Wi-Fi drops, the orders wait on the handheld and leave as soon as it is back.
To the kitchen and the bar by itself
Every line goes to the printer of its department, course by course. A line can be printed again or voided, with the reason.
The bill the table asks for
Pre-bill, discount, split evenly or by item, mixed payments: cash, card and room on the same bill.
The card on the handheld
The guest holds the card to the handheld, with no extra card terminal to bring to the table. The hotel's payment provider collects, under its own contract: the card never goes through Galaxy.
To the guest's room
Pick the in-house guest by room and the bill moves to the folio of the stay, ready for check-out.
Everything in the folios of Galaxy
The menu is the items of the program, payments go into the folios and the receipt comes from the restaurant's fiscal printer, as today. Nothing to copy at the end of the night.
The handheld
An Android handheld, like the ones many restaurants already use: in the waiter's hand for the order, and at the table for the card payment.
- Android with NFC certified for card payments
- Wi-Fi and, better, 4G too for the terrace or the beach

Frequently asked questions
When will it be available?+
There is no date yet: it will start in a pilot restaurant first. With “Notify me” we write to you as soon as it is ready, with no commitment.
Do I need a fiscal printer?+
In Italy, yes: the one the restaurant already has. The receipt comes from the restaurant's RT, because the handheld is not a fiscal printer. The handheld will send it the paid bill with the right form of payment, as the link between card terminals and RT requires.
Who collects the card payments?+
The payment provider the hotel has a contract with, at its own fees: the first ones we plan to connect are Viva.com and Nexi. The card never goes through Galaxy: the program only receives the result and the amount.
Does it work where the Wi-Fi does not reach?+
The orders do: they wait on the handheld and leave as soon as the network is back. Paying by card and closing the bill need the network: that is why a handheld with 4G is a good idea.
Does it work outside Italy too?+
The first version is designed for Italian hotels. In other countries the rules of the till are different: orders and room charges will work everywhere, closing the bill with the receipt will come country by country.
Is it also for a restaurant without a hotel?+
The first version is for the restaurant and the bar of a property that uses Galaxy: room charges and folios shared with the front desk are its strength.
How much will it cost?+
It will be a module of the Marketplace, property by property, like the others. We will give the price when it is available.
